PARSONS DESIGN WORKSHOP is an innovative design and build graduate-level architecture studio that offers pro bono design and construction services to local non-profit organizations.
Founded in 1998, its goal is to make a meaningful contribution to a community while providing students with practical experience and the opportunity to grow as designers of social change
Currently in its 20th year, this year’s Design Workshop at Parsons partnered with the Children’s Museum of the Arts in lower Manhattan. CMA is a community organization whose mission is to bring art therapy and education to all populations of children throughout NY. The Design-Build Studio was tasked with solving the Museum’s issues with the current lobby organization in order to improve the lobby experience for incoming patrons and allow users to properly understand, navigate, interact with and enjoy the space!
